New York criminal law attorney Valerie Mitchell earned her J.D. from Fordham University School of Law. While at Fordham Law School, Valerie interned at The Legal Aid Society’s Criminal Practice, the Executive Office for Immigration Review, and the San Francisco Public Defender’s Office. She also participated in the Immigrant Rights and Access to Justice Clinic and was a staff member of the Fordham International Law Journal. Valerie was awarded a Fordham Law School merit scholarship, the Student Leadership Award, and the Archibald R. Murray Public Service Award summa cum laude. Since law school, she has worked as a civil litigation attorney at the law firm of Paulose PLLC, as an Executive Fellow with the California Health and Human Services Agency, and as a Volunteer Attorney with Bronx Defenders. Her work has been published in the Fordham International Law Journal and the New York Criminal Law Newsletter.
Valerie is originally from California and has lived in New York since 2009. She received her undergraduate degree, cum laude, from Boston College, where she was a member of the Sociology Honors Program and the Alpha Kappa Delta Honor Society.
Valerie is admitted to practice law in the state of New York, the state of California, and the federal courts of the Southern and Eastern Districts of New York.
